Alexander Whyte III, 75, formerly of Attleboro, Massachusetts, died on Sunday, October 2, 2022. He was residing in Shelburne, Vermont at the time of his death.
Born on August 29, 1947, in Milford, Massachusetts, he was one of four children born to Alexander Whyte Jr. and Doris (Gagnon) Whyte.
Alexander, known as "Kelly" to many, grew up in Wrentham. When he was a teenager, his father passed away. Kelly deeply missed his father and the loss impacted his life. Kelly was a graduate of King Philip High School, class of 1965. Kelly attended Bridgewater State University. He was the first in his family to earn a Bachelor's degree. After college, he enlisted in the Army and served his country for 20 years, retiring as a Major. During his military career, he was stationed in six different US states and also served in Korea. His area of expertise was law enforcement and military intelligence. After retiring from the military, he returned "home" to the Attleboro, Massachusetts area and worked for a variety of companies.
Kelly enjoyed being active. He loved playing baseball and hockey during his youth. Throughout his life, he enjoyed visiting the beaches of Cape Cod, reading history books, watching his children compete in their activities, downhill skiing, and spending time with his dogs. Kelly is preceded in death by his mother, father, brother (Robert Sr.), and sister (Joan). Kelly is survived by his brother (John of Oakham, Massachusetts), two daughters (Jennifer & Erika), one son (Patrick), and eight grandchildren (Molly, Erin, Ellie, Olivia, Stephen, Grace, Skylar, and Juliana).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his memory to the Alzheimer's Association. Interment will take place at a later date in Vernon Grove Cemetery in Milford, Massachusetts at which time Kelly will be laid to rest with his grandparents, parents, sister, and extended family members.
