Obituary for Alyce Piche (Campbell)

Alyce (Campbell) Piche passed away September 8th, 2022 at Green Mountain Nursing Home. She was born December 29th, 1924 the fourth child of Ferdinand Campbell and Emma (Jalbert) Campbell. She was baptized on New Years at St. Francis Xavier Church as Marie Marguerite Alice Campbell. She married at the same church on March 4th, 1946 to Raymond J Piche. She was a communicant of St. Francis Xavier for most of her life.

Alyce was a member of the Daughters of Isabella, Ladies of St. Anne, The French Canadian Genealogical Society, The Winooski Historical Society, and Winooski Senior Citizens Center. She was a former member of Champlain Valley Grange #400 and Green Mountain Steppers. She held office and worked for most of these organizations.

She retired as Deputy Tax Collector from the City of South Burlington in 1985. After her retirement she did a lot of volunteer work for several organizations. Her most recent employment was part-time for the Winooski City Clerks office. She officially retired in June of 2003 at the age of 79.

Alyce is pre-deceased by her husband Raymond J Piche who passed in 1976 and tow of her six children Diane Wheeler and MaryJane Bister.

She is survived by four of her children, Lorraine Marcoux-Norton and her husband Terry of Essex Junction; Rachel Pinette and her husband Donald of Georgia, VT; Raymond J Piche Jr and his wife Donna; and Gerald A. Piche of West Chazy, NY. Alyce leaves behind 20 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren.

She was pre-deceased by all of her siblings. She is survived by her sister-in-law Laura Campbell of Colchester and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

In leu of flowers, donations can be made to UVM Home Health and Hospice and The Vermont Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired.

Funeral services will be held at St. Francis Xavier Church on Wednesday September 21st, 2022 at 1:00 pm with a graveside service immediately following.

A celebration of Alyce's life will take place Saturday, September 24th, 2022 from 2:00-4:00 pm at The American Legions Colchester (3650 Roosevelt Highway).
