Obituary for Barbara Lombard (Landino)

On July 8, 2022, Barbara passed away unexpectedly at home and went on the wings of the holy spirit to reunite with God and all her loved ones.

Barbara was born to William Landino and Edna Landino (Whittier) on July 8, 1946 in Colchester, VT.

She was educated at St. Francis Xavier catholic school. She graduated from Winooski High School in 1964. She attended Jean Mance school of Nursing briefly to become and an R.N. and enter the Air Force, but her plans changed and Barbara began doing bookkeeping at the Bader Company. She also worked at Porter Hospital in Middlebury, VT and then at Nortic Ford in South Burlington, Vt also as a bookkeeper and accountant. Barbara was proud when she received her B.A. of Business Administration in 2001 at Champlain College. Barbara become and ordained minister and married her son Michael to his wife Lisa.

Barbara married Bruce Lombard, a dairy farmer from Charlotte, VT. on January 29, 1972 at ST.Stevens Church in Winooski, VT. They lived in Cambridge until 1974 at which time they bought a farm in New Haven, VT. They later divorced in 1991.

In 1973 Barbara gave birth to her first son Michael and in 1976 to her son James. She loved her two sons more than anything. She was a loving and compassionate mother, and fought tirelessly for what they needed. Barbara was very playful with her children and they were what kept her going.

Her black lab Buddy was also very important to her! She spent countless hours with Buddy walking him and taking him for rides in the car. She was devastated when Buddy passed away.

Barbara enjoyed scrapbooking, rubber stamping, ceramics and was very talented at other crafts and projects. She loved being near the water and the ocean. She enjoyed going to Maine every year. She loved lighthouses. Dreamed of owning her own yacht.

Barbara was full of life and had a wonderful sense of humor and a contagious laugh. Her heart was as big as all outdoors and always tried to help the under dog or anyone in need.

Barbara's sons Michael and James have devoted their lives loving her unconditionally no matter how hard things got.

The last 5 years James and Marci Lombard were her full time care takers with the help of Rich and Marcie Caulfield.

Barbara was predeceased by her brother William L. Landino in 1960, her father William N. Landino in 1973, her maternal grandmother Victoria Dupaw in 1975, her mother, Edna R. Landino in 2006, and cousin Robert and wife Eileen Landine. As well as her grandson Spencer Gatt in 2018.

She is survived by her son Michael Burgoyne and his wife Lisa Burgoyne, James Lombard and his wife Marci Lombard. Esther McCormick long time roommate. Honorary sons Rich Caulfield and his wife Marcie Caulfield. Michael Pidgeon and his wife Meghan Pidgeon. Her “grandchildren” Corey Caulfield, Sophia Pidgeon, and Elizabeth Pidgeon. Barbara is also survived by her cousins Jerold Landine and wife Barbara, Kenneth Landine and wife Joyce, Philip Landine and wife Patricia, Paul Landine and wife Lee Ann, Michael Landine and wife Patricia, Liz Craine and husband Peter. As well as all of her cousins' children.

Viewing hours will be held at LaVigne Funeral home, at 132 Main Street, Winooski on Thursday, July 14, 2022 from 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at LaVigne Funeral Home Friday, July 15, 2011 at 11:00 am.
