Obituary for Cynthia Matthews Grimes
Cynthia Matthews Grimes, born on August 11, 1945, aged 78, passed away on December 11, 2022 at McClure Miller Respite House in Colchester, Vermont.
Cynthia spent most of her childhood in Metter, Georgia. She served in the Army during the Vietnam-era in the US Army Nurse Corps. After the military, she worked as a Drug and Alcohol Abuse Counselor for many years. She enjoyed animals, gardening, and helping people. She was also an avid hunter in her retirement years.
Cynthia was a mother of four and is survived by three sons, Joe, Charles Jr., and Chris. Her daughter Cathy Helms also passed in July of 2022. Cynthia is also survived by seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her late husband, Jospeh Uptegrove in 2017.
A service will be held in the Spring. Her final resting place will be at the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Randolph, Vermont.
