Ivey M. Myers, 93, passed away April 2, 2023. She was born in Washington Vt. to Frederick Williams & Adeline (Ducharme) Williams. Ivey was orphaned by age 4. She attended school at Mooseheart in Illinois and graduated in 1949 as ROTC Captain in her senior year. She moved back to Vermont where she met Paul Myers. They were wed in 1951 and had 65 years together before his passing in 2016.
Ivey was an avid card player and loved playing in cribbage tournaments. She was an exceptional baker and loved to read; especially British murder mysteries. Ivey was a parishioner of St. John Vianney church in So. Burlington.
Ivey is survived by her daughters Lori (Massachusetts), Mari (Nevada), her sons Mark (Florida) and John (Burlington), and her grandchildren Carly and Max Phaneuf. Her son Paul Jr. was predeceased in 1971. Ivey also had a large extended Vermont family with many nieces and nephews, her sister-in-law Genny (Bill) Croll, and her brother- in-law Charles Myers and his wife Joanne Myers who assisted both Paul and Ivey for many years with support for household errands, medical appointments, and emotional support for which her children are very
grateful.
Additionally the family would like to thank Birchwood Terrace, along with UVM Hospice , for their kindness and compassion with Ivey in her final days.
Burial arrangements are private. A Celebration of Life is planned for April 15th from 2-5 pm at the Rotisserie Restaurant at 1355 Williston Road. Personal reflections are being shared at 3 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ivey’s name to Birchwood Terrace at 43 Starr Farm Road, Burlington VT 05408.
