Obituary for Kathleen Mae "Kathy" Guyette (Sweet)

On July 24, 2022, Kathleen Guyette, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully in her home at the age of 81.

Kathleen was born on April 14, 1941, in Burlington, Vermont to Isabelle and Theodore Sweet. She was the youngest of ten children. She attended Burlington High School and spent most of her life in Vermont and Florida.

On November 17, 1959, she married Raymond Guyette and was his wife for 62 years. Together they had three children: Kelly, Kimmy, and Howard.

She worked many years as a caregiver in many different settings where she gave nothing less than her all for her patients.

Kathy liked family, road trips, travel, the casino, and the occasional glass of wine. She loved to walk and loved nature.

She was admired for her unrelenting love for her family, her generosity and sense of humor.

Kathy was preceded in death by her mother and father and eight siblings. She is survived by her husband: Raymond, children: Kelly and Geoff Elder, Kimmy and Victor Woodling, Howard Guyette and his partner, Mary Brown; Grandchildren: Christopher Thompson and his partner Kristin Kellett, Jacob and Deanna Woodling, Jessica Brassard, and Jake Elder. Great-grandchildren: Mikhyia, Landon, Brody, Brookelynn, Ryanne, and Finley. She is also survived by her sister Patty Camper as well as two sisters-in-law: Anne Jackson and Jeannine Cox and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at LaVigne Funeral Home on August 8, 2022. Calling hours are at 10:00 a.m. followed by the service at 11:00. After the funeral service, a reception will be held at the Winooski VFW.
