Obituary for Kyle Tipson

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved son, dad, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend. Kyle Tipson was born on September 23, 1976 to Skip and Sally Tipson.

Kyle’s journey through life was a short one, but one with great impact. He grew up in Winooski and graduated from WHS, where he touched many lives and was an outstanding athlete in football, basketball, and baseball.

The next leg of his journey took him to Blair Academy in New Jersey where he left a great legacy. He continued on to Hartwick College, earning a bachelor’s degree in sociology while also excelling in baseball and football. Kyle formed many lasting friendships during his time at Blair and Hartwick.

Kyle then worked as a bartender which later led him to become a co-owner of CK’s Bar with his longtime friend, Chris Coleman.

The final part of his journey took him to Rhino Foods, where he was a production supervisor and served as a mentor and friend to his colleagues, leaving many broken hearts.

He leaves behind countless people whose lives he touched and will always be a part of. Kyle is survived by his mom Sally, son Calvin, and brother Scott (Maggie). He also leaves his Uncle Bob Tipson, Uncle Wayne (Michelle) Tipson, Aunt Susan Hathaway, many cousins, including some very close cousins Nick Tipson, Jordan (Lisa) Tipson, Katie (Shawn) Maynard, Casey Tipson, and Chris (Jessica) Gelinas, his special “uncle” Paul LaRiviere, and close family friends Paul and Chris Frenette. He was predeceased by his dad Skip in 1995.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Kyle will take place at St. Francis Xavier on Friday, April 22 at 2:00pm. Donations may be made to Winooski Youth Baseball League in care of Jeff Brosseau, 52 Dufresne Drive, Winooski, VT 05404.
