Obituary for Mary E Key (Gallinoto)

Born Mary Elizabeth Gallinoto on May 1, 1933 to Grace & Frank Gallinoto in Bronx NY. Mary was the youngest in her family with 4 brothers growing up in difficult times during The Depression.

She spent her younger life in the Bronx, graduating from High school, then went on to become a Telephone Operator for Bell Telephone Systems, a job she was very proud of. In 1952 she married Alfred Charles Key, the absolute love of her life, (whom she was dated from age 15.) Moving to Texas as an Air Force wife she began her most treasured job- that of an exceptional wife & incredible mother. Her life would soon be full with 5 children & would find her moving with her Beloved Al & cherished children to Bay Shore, NY, & later to Winooski, VT to raise her family.

Once their children were grown & married with their own families she & her Al would move to Milton, Delaware where they had a honeymoon life again. In every place she ever lived she made amazing lifelong friends who became family. She was known as a lover of God & a lover of people, her first love was to Jesus, then her family & friends. You would find her bible was always by her side, her prayer life vibrant, her prayer request list long & Christian music was always on long & loud. She had a beautiful voice & loved singing with all heart to all music. Mary was known for many things, her love & care of her family & friends, her welcoming nature, finding hope & love in the face of adversity, & her strong faith as she prayed for others as a prayer warrior. Family & friends were blessed with her amazing cooking & baking skills. Her table was never empty with a cup of tea waiting. Mary loved flowers & making beautiful arrangements. She generously gave all her allowance to missions & those in need. Her tools of her trade were her apron, her immense love & her bible. She would do anything for anyone, & never shied away from difficult tasks. Mary suffered many losses, from the loss of her precious daughter Marie & her beloved Al, to loosing her battle with Alzheimer's but she never lost her deep faith in God & had Hope. When her language was taken away she showed love to those around her in her own language of hugs & kisses.

She will be greatly missed by her family who will carry her in their hearts. She is Pre-deceased by her parents, Grace & Frank Gallinoto, her husband Alfred C.
