Michaelena T. “Mickey” Benoit 87 passed away on November 28, 2022 at UVM medical center. Born on May 7 1935 to Marion and Sylvester DePaul. Mickey graduated from Winooski High school then married Wallace P Benoit on May 14 1955. Michaelena worked for many years at GE in Burlington. She was a loving mother and wife always putting her family first. She was an excellent seamstress spending many hours sewing quilts, wedding dresses, prom dresses and children’s clothing for all her grandchildren. For years Michaelena enjoyed fishing with Wally and living on the lake in Grand Isle. She loved crocheting and knitting, and cooking for family and friends.

Michaelena is survived by her daughter Paula Fitzgerald , son in law John Fitzgerald, son Scott Benoit, daughter in law Mary Benoit, daughter in law Deborah Benoit. She is survived by her grandchildren Shara Benoit , Mariah Shu , Phillip Benoit, Jacob Fitzgerald, Ryan Fitzgerald, Emily Kale , Vincent Benoit Weston Benoit and nine great grandchildren. Her Brothers Dominic DePaul, sister in law Patricia DePaul, brother Tony DePaul, sister in law Patty DePaul and sister Rose Leon. She is survived by her brother in law Doug Benoit and sister in law Ruthie Benoit and many nieces and nephews.

Michaelena was predeceased by her husband Wally Benoit, son Peter Benoit her brother Sylvester DePaul and her parents.

Michaelena was a wonderful mother and loving wife she will be missed by many. Visiting hours are December 11 from 1:00pm to 4:00 PM at Lavinge Funeral home Main St Winooski. A Graveside memorial will be held on December 12, at 11:00 am at Resurrection Park Cemetery, South Burlington, VT following a luncheon at 407 Bittersweet Cir. Williston VT.
