Neyna Whitney Minert, 30, of Burlington Vermont. It is with a heavy heart that we share the news of Neyna's passing on March 14, 2023 after five long years fighting her battle against colorectal cancer like a warrior. In her final moments, she was surrounded by her family.

Neyna begun changing the lives of others on March 10, 1993 by her mother, Neitok Minert. In her lifetime, she excelled athletically and possessed a mind full of creativity. Neyna was involved in hockey, softball, soccer, swim team, and played both the clarinet and piano. She made balancing school work, extracurricular activities, jobs, an extensive social life, look easy. She built herself from the ground up, found new ways to love and connect with people that adore her in return. A woman of integrity and bright-spirited, an inspiration and someone worth admiring.

Those were all the qualities on display when Neyna and Matt first connected, both knowing they had met the one. Neyna and Matt agreed and believed that family was the most important thing in life. Fast forward a few years and many memories, Neyna became an amazing mother. Kamea and Eliana were her pride and joy. She loved her daughters and taught them life's lessons with great patience and persistence. Kamea and Eliana are the shining images of their mother and will always remember and adore her. She was an amazing, loving mother, she was my best friend, a loving partner and the heart of our family. Neyna always put others first, and she was cherished by family and our friends. She fought cancer fiercely so that she could be with us as long as possible. Her life and wonderful spirit made an incredible impact on us all. Neyna will always be with us.

Neyna is survived by her mother, Neitok Minert in South Burlington. Her partner Matt Palermo in Burlington along with their two beautiful daughters; Kamea (7) and Eliana (4). As well as her siblings Kwini, Celka, Jalen, Kailey Antoniak, and Ashley Hartmann. Her Nephew, Christopher.

Our family would like to give a special thank you to Marc S. Greenblatt, MD along with the Miller 5 oncology and palliative care team involved with Neyna's treatment over the years since her diagnosis.
