Obituary for Paul Maynard Jr.

Paul Maynard, 71, of Burlington, VT passed away on July 16, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Paul was born in Burlington, VT to Paul and Marie (Lemons) Maynard on December 24, 1950. He went to school at Burlington High School, graduating in the class of 1968. He married Martha Cunningham on August 6, 1983 in Winooski, VT. He worked as a Postmaster for the Federal Government for 32 years. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War; He served in the Army and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Army Commendation Medal among many others. He went from active military to serve an additional 19 years in the Army Guard. He Retired with 22 years of service. Paul was an avid fisherman. He loved to fish! He would sit on a bank for hours waiting for that one fish to bite! (Hopefully a big one)

Paul was preceded in death by his parents Paul and Marie Maynard, and his sister Patty Maynard.

Paul is survived by the love of his life Martha, his son Scott Adam and his wife Melinda of Holiday, FL, daughter Amy Cassell of Rutland VT, daughter Nicole Gueniot and her husband Josh of Colchester VT and son Joseph and his wife Christina of Jay VT. His sister Delores Ciechanowicz and her husband Joe, sister Joan Frosolone and her husband Rich, brother Steve Maynard and his wife Susan. His grandchildren: Ashley, Daniel, Lindsay, Chelsea, Micheal, and Caleb. He is survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family of Paul wishes to extend our sincere thanks to UVM Hospice especially Nancy, Lizzie, and Casey. Thank you for all the many, many hours of care and support to both Paul and his family. You are incredibly special people. There will be no visiting hours. The Funeral Service will be at 11:00am Tuesday July 26, 2022 at St Francis Church 3 St Peter Street, Winooski VT. Arrangements are in the care of LaVigne Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 132 Main St, Winooski VT 05404. A military burial will follow at Resurrection Park Cemetery Hinesburg Rd South Burlington VT.
