Obituary for Robert D. Perry

Robert Duane “Bob” Perry, 73, of Colchester, VT passed away unexpectedly on Friday February 2, 2024. Bob was born on May 12, 1950, in Burlington, VT to the late Robert M. “Bob” Perry and Theresa Payea Perry.

Bob graduated from Champlain Valley Union High School in 1968. He then served in the U.S. Navy, completing 3 tours in Vietnam. 
Bob’s dad, Robert M. “Bob” Perry started Bob Perry Trucking shortly before his death in 1971. Bob, along with his mom, Theresa, and his brother Bill, worked together to continue building and expanding the business by taking care of their customers.  Shortly after the sale of the Bob Perry Trucking business in 1987, Bob joined Casella Waste Management where he enjoyed employment for 33 years ending the day he passed.

Bob was an avid fisherman and hunter with plenty of stories and trophies to show for it. He will be remembered for his love of his family and his amazing work ethic.

Bob is survived by his wife Kristy Perry, his treasured son, Jake Perry, his son and best friend, Brian (Julie) Perry, and Bob's two cherished grandchildren Noah and Sophia of Lake Worth Fl. Bob is also survived by his mother Theresa P. Devino, his sister, Sue (Roland) Robinson all of Georgia, VT, and his brother, Bill (Carol) Perry of Powell, WY., a niece and several nephews. Bob was predeceased by his beloved son, Paul D. Perry in 2022, and his dad, Robert M. “Bob” Perry in 1971.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday February 14, from 5pm-7pm at LaVigne Funeral & Cremation Service, 132 Main St., Winooski. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday February 15, at 11:00am at St. Catherine of Siena Church, Shelburne. Burial with military honors will be in the spring at Shelburne Village Cemetery.
