Obituary for Suzanne Evanchuk (LaFontaine)
Suzanne Evanchuk, 79, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2022, at the University of Vermont Medical Center. She was born in Plattsburgh, NY on August 17, 1942, the daughter of Raphael and May (Tecklenburg) LaFontaine. Suzanne grew up in Dannemora, NY and graduated from Dannemora High School and later from Albany Business College. She was later employed by Gaines Department Store.
Suzanne is survived by her dear friend Deborah Torrey, who she would like to thank for a lifetime of friendship, kindness, and compassion. She also sends a special note of thanks to Jo Kinville and Paul and Paula Bombard for helping to meet her needs with such care and compassion. She is predeceased by her parents Raphael and May, as well as her husband Thomas Evanchuk. She is also predeceased by her brother Charles LaFontaine of San Fransisco.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, May 4th at 11:00 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in South Burlington. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Suzanne’s name to the Chittenden Emergency Food Shelf.
