Obituary for Violet Rita Casey (Jacob)

Violet was born on September 26, 1920 in New Orleans, LA, the daughter of Fremont Jacob and Mary (Guedry) Jacob. She graduated from Immaculate Conception High School in that city and at the outbreak of WW2 joined the Women’s Army Corp (WAAC, WAC) proudly serving her Country from 1942-45
Following her military service, Violet attended Dominican College in New Orleans studying Journalism and in 1946 married Martin E. Casey, Jr. and together they had four sons and in 1969 they moved their family to Vermont where Violet remained until her death.
Violet is survived by her four sons, Martin E Casey, III, John A Casey, Sr., Francis J Casey and Paul R Casey as well as her grandchildren John Casey, Jr., Samuel Casey and Katrina Casey. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by all ten of her siblings.
Visiting hours will be held form 12:30 to 1:30PM Thursday June 16 at LaVigne Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 132 Main St, Winooski, VT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00AM on Friday June 17 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with burial to follow at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery.
